About Us

The Cusano family is a staple in the Concord, NH area. As a young child, Tom Cusano and his siblings worked at his parents and grandparents coney island style hot dog restaurant known as “Dan’s Mile Long Dogs.” There were not many places to eat on Loudon Road back then. His Grandfather, Daniel Cusano sold ice cream and other yummy treats out of the restaurant as well as the white ice cream truck.  

While at the restaurant, Tom started restoring wood stoves and displaying them on the front porch. He had a shed outback with several stoves in it that he often referred to as the barn. While studying business at UNH, Tom decided to purchase the land behind the restaurant and build a hearth store. He called it “The Stove Barn! That was in 1976 and it is still going strong. The store has been through some changes over the years. About ten years ago two of the kids took an interest in the shop and had a turn at operations. Now the store is managed by Tom’s wife, Karen, and a new team of experienced and dedicated hearth professionals. 

The store has a large showroom with a variety of static and burning displays for customers to peruse. The store offers wood, gas, electric and pellet stoves, and fireplaces as well as many hearth accessories. 

We also have a fantastic summer line with barbeque grills and pool supplies. We take most forms of payment and have the ability to order much of what you need if you can’t find it in our store.
